Breathe on me, Breath of God, Fill me with life anew! This classic hymn written two centuries ago by Edwin Hatch, is a new music rendition by Peter Vantine, who told me he was divinely inspired to compose the music for my singing voice. We recorded this song after Peter and I released our “Simple Song CD.”

On this last day of July 2021, I pause standing in awe of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who is my Provider, Protector, and Lover of my soul! Although life was uncertain for me at the beginning of 2021, I am rejoicing at how much better my life is now since the Lord God surprisingly breathed a new and better life for me.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.

Moving out of my wonderful apartment was not my plan. But it was necessary due to my small business going under. While I grieved over the abrupt closing of this chapter of life, I prayed and asked God: where my life is going and what do I do at this time?

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until my will is one with thine,
To do and to endure.

The Lord God answered my question with full-time work  that I presently enjoy because of my co-workers and work-life balance that my position allows. While still very busy and fully engaged as a full-time employee, I am more productive now than I’ve ever been. It’s wonderful to still have energy at the end of the work day to help my elderly parents with errands, and also have motivation to pursue my personal interests. Plus, I can now begin using my vacation time traveling the world while teaching English as a foreign language! and most importantly sharing my singing talents and life story with new friends around the world!!

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly Thine,
Till all this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.

Perhaps part of God’s plan is for me to live closer to my parents and my sister’s family to be more involved in their lives. As a bonus, my new apartment home is more spacious, has additional amenities that were not available at my old apartment, and a great location. Two minutes to/from the highway and walking distance to – a grocery store, banks, Panera (Bread Co.), Starbucks, variety of restaurants, beauty salons, gasoline stations, car service places, Dollar Tree, medical and dental practices, a fitness center, Walgreens, Urgent Care clinics, and a Hospital! all within my walkable, safe and pleasant neighborhood.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.

The Lord’s provision, protection and love for my soul, continues to be my life’s navigation compass. As long as the Word of God leads me step by step, I will always be at a better place than I can ever imagine. I don’t know how long God wants me to stay where I am now, but I know this is where the Lord God has planted me to blossom, grow, and be a blessing by serving others. Though this surprisingly new life is unexpected, I acknowledge and surrender to the good and perfect will of the Lord God Almighty. Thanks be to God!
